Hello! Yes, it has been awhile again. Ugggh. So, while Silas puts on his dad's shoes and bicycle helmet to "mow" the living room with his lawnmower, I thought I would catch you up on what our little guy has been up too lately. Plus, since I don't keep a baby book or anything, it is good for me to get some of this documented. I also know the grandparents eat this stuff up!!!
Toy Story!! Toy Story 1 & 2, Toy Story Books, Toy Story Figurines. Anything at all that has to do with Toy Story. Obsessed.
Si's favorite things at the moment include:
His current favorite phases, repeated numerous times throughout the day include, "To Infinity and Beyond!!" and "Come in Star Command", and "Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!". He answers most questions with either "Ok Cowboy" or "No way Cowboy". For example...if you ask him to please sit down when eating his snack, he will say "Ok Cowboy!", very enthusiastically. He has also been saying a lot of "Let's roll!". When it is time to leave the house, it is usually "Ok cowboy, let's roll!".
Drinking out of public water fountains (this is a big one)
Using hand dryers
Eating indian food (this is all that Si requests to eat, all the time!)
Looking at pictures of himself and his friends/family on the computer
Calling friends and family on the phone
Singing "Happy Birthday", "Rock a Bye Baby (revised version where I removed neck-breaking fall)", "Row, Row, Row Your Boat", "Wheels on the Bus", and "Itsy, Bitsy Spider", "Mommy and Daddy Do", "Farmer in the Dell", etc.
Looking at spiders and spider webs (uggh!)
Drinking hot chocolate and taking sips of my decaf coffee
Watching "Toy Story" when we have a movie and pizza night
Going down slides (sometimes)
Watching people jump of the diving board at the pool (during the summer time, he was into this)
Peeling and eating his own nectarines
Playing at the toddler gym
Eating treats - lollipops, ice cream, chocolate, whatever!
Doing the vacuum. He can run our big house vacuum. Yes!! :)
Unlocking and opening the front door to let the cats in and out of the house. Again, we love this...Pierre and I hate getting up 50 times a night to let those beasts in and out. Si loves it, he goes running, so this is his new chore (along with vacuuming...)
Brushing his teeth
Things Si does not like:
Vegetables
Washing his hair - a fight every time!
Haircuts
Shots
The doctor
------------------------------------------------------
Si started Pre-School/DayCare back in September as you know. He is there Mondays and Wednesdays. We were sad to leave Addie, but she got a good job opportunity and we were happy for her. Si is having fun at school, and learning a lot. We got sooooo incredibly lucky, it is such a great place with amazing teachers. He still has a hard time when I leave in the mornings, but he has a great time once he is settled in. :)
Warning:
Show off time for the grandparents. Do not read if you don't love it when parents brag about their kids, it is ok...I understand, it can be annoying...but believe me, the grandparents eat it up! Plus, it is a good chance to write down all the things he is doing, since we are bad parents that don't keep a journal or a baby book. OOps. Anyway....:
Silas still knows all of his letters, which we don't go over very frequently at all, so it is pretty nifty that he knows them. He points at letters and tells me what they are. I thought that when he started doing them back in April it was maybe a fluke and he would forget them eventually before relearning them again, but he still knows them well. He also knows his numbers (well, 1-9 he can pick out visually like his letters), but he can verbally say his numbers up to 18 on occasion, and then can go through some of his 20s...I think that it is because Grandpa counts to put him to sleep at naptime. Pierre doesn't like when I try to get Si to say them though, he thinks Si shouldn't have to know so many numbers. Si also has started to "count"- he will pick things up one at a time (like a crayon) and move them from one place to another and 'count' by saying "one, two, three, four" as he moves them.
Now, for the pics, in random order, and some months old...oops again:

This was taken at Proletariat Pizza in White Center, our new fave pizza place. It was a hot evening (probably the only one we've had in Seattle this year) and so Si was going sans shirt. This place is super kid friendly, and they have a little play area, so Si had a great time.

Si's 2nd Birthday Bash at the Park, where he celebrated with Luka and Tatey.

Wow, that is a lot of food for breakfast.

Impromptu family pic! Si is wearing his vintage Nice t-shirt.

Family Bday party. Albertsons screwed up on his cake so we got it for free! You can't tell from here but the writing on the cake was pretty horrible. Oh well, still tasted yummy. Si kept saying he wanted a firetruck cake, so he got one!
Ok, we are heading out the door to the bellevue children's museum...I will try to post more pics later (aka in a few months or half a year).
Loves to all!
Leah
